Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration, under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, has appointed VFS Global as the exclusive provider for the new Electronic Visa on Arrival (e-VoA) service. This streamlined digital visa platform, launching in the first half of December 2024, will be available to travelers from 97 countries, including South Korea, aimed at enhancing tourism and investment inflow to Indonesia.
The new e-VoA platform by VFS Global allows eligible travelers to complete the visa application process entirely online before departing for Indonesia. The process involves submitting required documents and paying fees on the VFS Global website, with the approved e-VoA sent directly via email. Upon arrival in Indonesia, e-VoA holders can use E-gates or designated immigration counters for a faster entry experience.
Mr. Silmy Karim, Director General of Immigration of Indonesia, highlighted that this initiative is part of Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to implement cutting-edge digital solutions that facilitate foreign travel to Indonesia. He praised VFS Global’s robust digital platform and extensive network for contributing to Indonesia’s inbound tourism strategy.
To further assist international travelers, VFS Global will provide live support and dedicated email assistance in seven languages—English, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, German, and French. The platform also offers a group booking feature tailored for the travel trade and conventions market, making it easier for large groups to plan visits to Indonesia.
Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global Group, expressed enthusiasm for this partnership, emphasizing that the e-VoA service will simplify the visa process, making Indonesia more accessible to travelers worldwide. Designed with user convenience in mind, the platform includes OCR technology to auto-populate applicant details, reducing time and errors.
