Avelo Airlines has launched a new nonstop route connecting Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) with Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Southern Connecticut. One-way fares for this new service start at just $72*.
As the sole airline offering direct flights between New Haven and New Orleans, Avelo will operate this route twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, using Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft. The new service is available starting today.

Avelo Airlines continues to strengthen its presence in Connecticut, where it has dedicated eight Boeing Next Generation 737-800 aircraft to New Haven’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). These impressive statistics are compiled by Anuvu’s third-party data platform, which also tracks data for The Wall Street Journal’s annual airline rankings. While Avelo’s performance was notable, it was excluded from the ranking due to size-based thresholds set by the publication.
New Haven is now Avelo’s largest hub, employing nearly 300 crew members and serving 27 nonstop destinations. Since beginning operations at HVN in November 2021, Avelo has flown over 2.7 million passengers and completed more than 20,000 flights.
