Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has unveiled the fourth edition of Hatta Cultural Nights, a vibrant initiative offering an array of cultural and entertainment experiences for visitors to the picturesque Hatta region.
The event invites participants to immerse themselves in Hatta’s rich heritage, natural beauty, and unique traditions, emphasizing its historical and cultural significance. By spotlighting these elements, the initiative strengthens Hatta’s appeal as a must-visit destination. This program supports the goals of the Hatta Master Development Plan, spearheaded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The plan envisions transforming Hatta into a prominent hub for tourism, business, and global investment.
Scheduled to take place at Hatta Heritage Village from December 22, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the event promises a captivating lineup of heritage activities, artistic showcases, and entertainment that celebrate Hatta’s cultural legacy. Attendees can delight in poetry evenings featuring local poets, along with traditional performances by skilled groups presenting Al Harbiya, Al Ayala, and Al Azi. The program also offers live demonstrations with traditional instruments like the Rababa and Oud, engaging drum performances, bubble and balloon shows, and more.
The event seamlessly combines culture, heritage, and entertainment, including displays of vintage cars, motorbike tours, and interactive workshops. Guests can explore astronomy, Arabic calligraphy, and traditional crafts such as Talli embroidery, Sadu weaving, Burqa making, and palm frond weaving, all led by master artisans. A special section for children features traditional games, designed to provide a fun and educational glimpse into the region’s rich cultural traditions.
In alignment with Dubai Culture’s support for the Hatta Winter Festival under the Dubai Destinations campaign, Hatta Cultural Nights will feature a traditional market that highlights the craftsmanship of local families and entrepreneurs. This market celebrates heritage while also showcasing a diverse range of innovative products from talented creators. By providing a platform for these individuals to share their work with the community, the event plays a vital role in empowering local talent and fostering the growth of Dubai’s creative and cultural industries.
