Journey Beyond, in collaboration with Tourism Western Australia and Southern Crossings, recently hosted a group of prestigious travel industry leaders at a familly event at Sal Salis, an exclusive luxury eco-retreat located in Cape Range National Park.
Before their arrival at Sal Salis, the group explored the renowned Margaret River region, enjoying the Cape to Cape Walk and staying at the luxurious Smiths Beach Resort. They were also treated to an exclusive dining experience with renowned chef Kate Lamont.
Alicia Triggs, Journey Beyond’s executive general manager of sales and partnerships, highlighted the uniqueness of Sal Salis, one of the Luxury Lodges of Australia. “There’s nowhere quite like Sal Salis. It was a privilege to collaborate with Tourism Western Australia and Southern Crossings to host global industry leaders here, where the outback meets the reef.”
The event, coinciding with the World Travel & Tourism Council Summit’s focus on sustainability, emphasized the importance of resilient and sustainable travel. Attendees enjoyed activities like snorkeling along the Ningaloo coast, exploring Cape Range National Park, and swimming with whale sharks, making the experience both memorable and impactful.
Industry leaders attending included prominent figures such as Virtuoso Travel CEO Matthew Upchurch, Chase Travel’s Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg, and Intrepid Travel CEO James Thornton. Wilson-Buttigieg remarked on the magical experience: “Sal Salis is truly a place to slow down, rest, and recharge, while also offering exhilarating experiences like swimming with whale sharks.”
Sustainability remains a key priority at Sal Salis, with its eco-luxury safari tents designed for minimal environmental impact, offering guests a close connection to nature with 5-star comforts.
The event concluded with another group of industry leaders attending the WTTC Summit hosted by Cory Gale from Tourism Western Australia, including media representatives from AFAR Magazine, La Stampa, and The New York Post.
