Delhi to Gurugram in 7 Minutes: All-Electric Air Taxi Service Coming Soon

InterGlobe Enterprises, plan to launch an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026. The service will provide 200 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, capable of carrying four passengers. The service will be available in Bengaluru and Mumbai. Archer Aviation plans to operate 200 of its Midnight aircraft and start flights in India by 2026.

According to the most recent development, it will soon be possible to go from Delhi to Gurugram in 7 minutes. Soon, there will be an all-electric taxi service available, making it possible.

As per rumors, US-based Archer Aviation and IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Enterprises, want to launch an all-electric air taxi service in India by 2026. In only seven minutes, customers will be able to travel from Connaught Place to Gurugram thanks to this service.

According to reports, 200 electric vertical takeoffs and landing (eVTOL) aircraft will be provided by Archer Aviation as part of this collaboration. Beyond the pilot, each aircraft will have enough for four passengers. These aircraft perform similarly to helicopters but with more peaceful operation and more solid safety features.

In addition to Delhi, InterGlobe and Archer Aviation’s joint venture will provide similar Air Taxi services in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

Regarding the pricing, the knowledgeable person said that the air taxi service in Delhi would probably cost between INR 2,000 and 3,000 for a seven-minute journey from Connaught Place to Gurugram using their five-seater eVTOL aircraft.

The founder and CEO of Archer Aviation, Adam Goldstein, said that the company’s aircraft is undergoing an advanced certification procedure based on continuing discussions with the US regulator, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The business plans to start the certification procedure with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India after they expect certification next year.

Goldstein continued, saying that the business plans to operate 200 of its Midnight aircraft and expects to start flights in India by 2026. At first, Archer Aviation will focus on Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.

The 27 kilometers between Connaught Place and Gurugram normally takes a vehicle 90 minutes, at an estimated cost of Rs 1,500, according to Goldstein. However, with the introduction of air taxis, this will soon change.

The chief commercial officer of Archer Aviation, Nikhil Goel, said that a pilot and four passengers may travel in luxury aboard the five-seater Midnight aircraft. With six battery packs installed, the aircraft can be completely recharged in 30 to 40 minutes, allowing one minute of charging for every minute of flying duration.

Additionally, the business is now in talks with a number of organizations about the necessary infrastructure and operational elements of the trip, such as land for launchpads or vertiports and other essential amenities required to begin flight operations.
