Today, Akasa Air, the airline with the fastest rate of growth in India, achieved a noteworthy milestone by starting the first-ever daily direct route from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, therefore extending its global reach. The first aircraft is expected to arrive at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi at 18:50 IST, having left Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport at 17:05 IST.

In a ceremony conducted at the airport in Mumbai, the Executive Committee of Akasa Air and representatives from Mumbai International Airport Limited commemorated this historic occasion by lighting a ceremonial lamp and giving the first passenger a unique boarding permit.

With the opening of this route, travelers now have a dependable, reasonably priced, and easy way to go from India to the United Arab Emirates. Neelu Khatri, co-founder and senior vice president of international at Akasa Air, commented on the launch and showed her delight, saying, “We are happy to begin operations from Abu Dhabi, the fourth international destination on our rapidly growing global network.” With this introduction, air travel connections between India and the UAE will be strengthened, giving travelers more convenient and reasonably priced alternatives.

Co-founder and chief commercial officer Praveen Iyer emphasized the strategic significance of the new route, saying, “Abu Dhabi offers unique tourist experiences and is home to a significant Indian diaspora.” Overseas business tourists are drawn to the city by its expanding commercial potential.
