Over the course of its incredible journey, the airline has reached previously unheard-of milestones in the aviation business. Since its founding on August 7, 2022, when it operated its first trip from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, Akasa Air has grown to become a well-known carrier in India.

After serving more than 11 million passengers in only two years, Akasa Air has been known as India’s most punctual airline.

The CEO and founder of Akasa Air, Vinay Dube, gave a retrospective of the airline’s history, saying, “Two years ago, we set out to redefine air travel in India.” We are happy to report that, as of right now, we have succeeded in realizing that goal, providing passengers with the most comfortable flights possible, a clean and modern in-flight experience, and carefully selected food selections. Our 4,000-person team’s commitment and our partners’ and shareholders’ steadfast support are the reasons for our success.

With approximately 900 weekly flights, the airline now links 22 domestic and five overseas locations. Within barely 17 months of business, Akasa Air achieved a record by placing a definite order for 150 aircraft in January 2024.

After only 19 months of existence, Akasa Air became the first Indian airline to fly internationally, offering service to Doha, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, and Kuwait. The airline has expanded its worldwide reach by operating more than 35 weekly overseas flights.

Akasa Air is on course to turn a profit by concentrating on cost leadership and practicing financial discipline. In the most recent fiscal year, the airline had a 300 percent increase in available seat kilometers (ASKM), which created a new standard in the aviation industry. In the future, Akasa expects ASKM to rise by 50% annually, maintaining its position as the market leader
