During the annual Amarnath Yatra, which takes place in the Ladar Valley from June 29 to August 19, 2024, pilgrims must register in advance to ensure their safety and a seamless journey. Early registration for individuals planning to take part opens today, Monday, April 15.
Located around 141 miles away from the busy hub of Srinagar, the sacred cave of Amarnath is positioned at an amazing height of 12,756 feet above sea level, nestled inside the gorgeous Ladar Valley. The time for the annual Amarnath Yatra is almost here.
The itinerary for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra, a yearly pilgrimage that is highly venerated by devotees, was just released by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). This holy Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to take place from June 29 to August 19, 2024, according to the statement. Early registration for individuals planning to take part opens today. By registering in advance, pilgrims may guarantee their places for the 52-day yatra and ensure a seamless, well-planned pilgrimage experience.
Every year, the Amarnath Yatra is conducted under close observation and with strict security protocols. Two separate routes are used by pilgrims to begin this holy journey: the 48-kilometer Nunwan-Pahalgam route in the district of Anantnag, and the shorter but trickier 14-kilometer Baltal route in the district of Ganderbal.

If rumors are to be believed, plans are in motion to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims making the trek. Particularly, specialized training is now being received by members of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The purpose of this training is to provide them with the knowledge and abilities needed to join the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs). This initiative’s goal is to strengthen security measures along the pilgrimage routes in order to protect pilgrims’ safety in the face of difficult mountainous terrain.
Every year during the ‘Shravani Mela’ in July and August, which coincides with the Hindu calendar’s auspicious Shravan month, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims converge at the Amarnath Yatra site. The only time the Amarnath Cave is open to the public is during this important pilgrimage season. Motivated by their profound faith and devotion, pilgrims set out on this strenuous trip to the holy location among the tranquil Himalayan environs in order to seek blessings.
Additionally, the Amarnath Yatra app may now be found in the Play Store. The app gives users access to a variety of internet services, real-time weather reports, and the most recent information on the trip.
