According to the most recent news sources, Uttarakhand’s Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage will commence when the gates of three sacred Himalayan shrines, Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, and Gangotri Dham, open to pilgrims.

Sri Kedarnath Dham’s gateway will open two days early, on May 10, at 7 AM, while Sri Badrinath Dham’s portals will open on May 12, at 6 AM. It is expected that pilgrims from all around the nation would congregate at this hallowed location to conduct rituals and ask for blessings.

The gates of Shri Gangotri Dham will open on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. The holy river Ganga originates at this hallowed location, and its 20-foot-tall temple has elaborate carvings on white granite. Situated in the state’s highest regions within the majestic Himalayas covered in snow, Gangotri experiences copious amounts of snowfall from December to March.

Hinduism attaches great spiritual value to the Char Dham Yatra, which is the journey to the four holy locations of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. The usual travel season for this route is April/May through October/November, subject to weather. Millions of people visit these Himalayan temples every year, however, during the winter months the gates are locked because of the severe snowfall.

Thousands of followers go out on this strenuous path each year in search of heavenly favors and spiritual cleansing. The Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee chairman, Ajendra Ajay, has said that enough money would be set aside in the next budget for passenger amenities to serve even more pilgrims this year.

Registration is already open for Badrinath and Kedarnath Dhams; registration for Gangotri and Yamunotri Dhams will open upon the official announcement of their door openings.
