IndiGo now has a fleet of over 350 aircraft, and in June 2023, the airline made a record-breaking order with Airbus for 500 aircraft, including A320NEO, A321NEO, and A321XLR variants. With approximately 1,000 A320 Family aircraft yet to be delivered, this new order strengthens IndiGo’s strategic cooperation with Airbus and marks the start of a promising collaboration with Rolls-Royce.

IndiGo, India’s biggest airline by operations and fleet size, has taken significant moves to alter its long-term trajectory by bringing wide-body aircraft to its fleet. Since its establishment in 2006, IndiGo has progressively consolidated its position in the aviation market, and it is now prepared to take substantial steps toward becoming a global aviation operator.

The airline has placed an order for 30 Firm A350-900 aircraft, indicating a strategic drive to increase its reach and develop its network across several Indian metropolises to link with worldwide destinations. These aircraft, outfitted with Rolls Royce’s Trent XWB engine, provide IndiGo with unparalleled mobility as it navigates the changing demands of Indian travelers and the country’s aviation industry.
