The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, in partnership with the District Administration and Sunset Desert Camp, unveiled the second chapter of the Chanderi Eco Retreat and Fest in the heritage-rich town of Chanderi.
This extraordinary festival seamlessly combines luxury, cultural heritage, and eco-consciousness. The grand opening was graced by Ashoknagar Collector Mr. Subhash Kumar Dwivedi and the Additional Managing Director of the Tourism Board, Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee. The event showcased captivating folk dances, heartfelt Bollywood tunes performed by the Musafir Band, and an array of traditional cultural performances.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Mukherjee said: “Launched in 2023, the Chanderi Eco Retreat aims to position Chanderi as a global tourism hub. This year’s edition enhances the visitor experience with luxury tented accommodations, cultural programs, and a platform for local handicrafts, showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to responsible tourism.”
The retreat showcased an array of engaging activities, such as the Firecracker Display, a Film Tourism Seminar, a vibrant Fashion Show, and a Cyclothon that invited participants to discover the picturesque landscapes of Chanderi. Local artists celebrated the region’s rich cultural heritage, while interactive workshops on health, education, and youth skill-building played a key role in empowering the community.
Attracting 112.1 million tourists in 2023, Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a frontrunner in India’s tourism industry. Initiatives like the Chanderi Eco Retreat are setting new standards in sustainable tourism while providing travelers with enriching cultural and experiential journeys.
