The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board plans to install larger 11- and 20-seater planes to further enhance connectivity and accessibility.

Under the ‘PM Shri Payatan Vayu Seva’ initiative, the Madhya Pradesh Aviation Department has introduced intra-state air taxi services that can travel from Bhopal to Indore in about 55 minutes.

In Madhya Pradesh, the much-expected intrastate air taxi services have officially debuted. Residents were pleased to see the recent unveiling of the ambitious project titled “PM Shri Payatan Vayu Seva” by the Madhya Pradesh Aviation Department. The main cities of Bhopal and Indore will be connected by air travel, cutting down on travel time from the approximately 4-hour road trip to only 55 minutes.

In addition, travelers will get a 50% cost reduction, enhancing the accessibility and affordability of air travel for locals. Residents’ experiences traveling inside the state will no longer be the same thanks to this innovative project.

An important turning point in the state’s transportation network has been reached with this launch. Through the establishment of air connections between key cities such as Bhopal and Indore, the project not only reduces travel time but also boosts local economies and expands tourist opportunities across the state.
On June 11, 2024, in Bhopal, the Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav Ji, digitally inaugurated the website for PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva.

The ease and effectiveness of air travel are now available to those who commute between Bhopal and Indore. This air service becomes the preferred choice for those with time-sensitive obligations because of its quick flight length of less than an hour, which guarantees smooth connection and quick travel.

The establishment of this intra-state air service is intended to have a favorable effect on a number of industries, including tourism, trade, and business. The service streamlines access to essential services like healthcare and education throughout Madhya Pradesh and opens up new business and investment opportunities.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav waived the flag for the maiden flight of Madhya Pradesh’s air taxi, which was introduced by PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva. The airline made its first trip from Bhopal to Jabalpur, where the chief minister gave the passengers their boarding cards in person. He also opened a special ticketing counter for the convenience of anyone who wanted to use the service offline.

Currently, the plane can carry six people. However, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board plans to install bigger 11-seater and ultimately 20-seater planes to significantly improve connection and accessibility across the state as soon as the service receives favorable feedback and grows in popularity.

This calculated action shows how committed the government is to using improved transportation networks to promote economic development and increase regional connections.
