Saudi Arabia Tourism Authority (STA) has announced the Saudi Summer Program 2024, also known as “Saudi Summer is Next Door,” for four months across seven sites. The program offers over 550 tourist goods and 150 unique offers for families and children, with activities ranging from luxury retreats to adventure seekers. Key industry players, including the World Tourism Organization’s Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s transformation in tourism and its commitment to enhancing its appeal to a global audience.

The itinerary promises a variety of activities for a wide range of interests, from luxury retreats or cultural experiences to adventure seekers and those looking to explore Aseer, Al Baha, Taif, Jeddah, Riyadh, the Red Sea, and Al Ula. The return of the Jeddah Season and the start of the Aseer Season, both of which provide an abundance of family-friendly events and activities, are among this year’s highlights.

Important events including the Esports World Cup, an annual eight-week competition showcasing elite esports players, and many boxing competitions in Riyadh and Jeddah will take place during Saudi Summer 2024. The objective of these events is to draw in visitors from both domestic and foreign sources, therefore augmenting Saudi Arabia’s already impressive worldwide image.

Industry influence and strategic vision
Key industry players, such as Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, were present at the inaugural ceremony, where he emphasized Saudi’s revolutionary tourism journey. He emphasized the Kingdom’s unprecedented visitor numbers, which have propelled Saudi Arabia to the top of both the G20 and UN world tourism lists.

“Saudi Arabia is witnessing a transformative period in tourism, driven by our vision to position the Kingdom as a premier global destination,” Al-Khateeb said. “Our exceptional hospitality, stunning scenery, and rich cultural legacy are all on display during the Saudi Summer Program 2024. Our commitment to enhancing Saudi Arabia’s tourism appeal to a global audience is evident in this program, which is bolstered by our innovative collaborations, eVisa, and enhanced aircraft connections.

Improved reach and marketing
Saudi Arabia has poured a lot of work into streamlining visa procedures to make travel easier. With a 20% price drop, 66 nations’ nationals may now get an eVisa. In addition, a GCC resident visa permits repeated entry and stays of up to ninety days, and there are now 1,100 weekly flights from Gulf cities to Saudi locations.

The CEO and board member of the Saudi Tourism Authority, Fahd Hamidaddin, emphasized that the program’s main goal is to promote Saudi Arabia’s distinctive natural, climatic, and cultural variety. “This year’s summer program has 150 exclusive discounts and over 550 travel-related goods created in association with STA’s partners. We want to draw attention to the distinctive qualities of our locations as well as the outstanding summertime events and activities.”

An appeal to investigate Saudi Arabia
“Saudi Summer is Next Door” is the advertising tagline, which encourages visitors to explore the Kingdom’s many fascinating and enchanted locations. By fostering demand for travel-related goods and services that satisfy the needs of travelers from all over the globe, the STA hopes to strengthen the position of the private sector.

With an extra 25,000 hotel rooms anticipated this year, Saudi Arabia is building up its hospitality infrastructure, and the Saudi Summer Program 2024 is proof of the Kingdom’s determination to become a premier international travel destination.
