LGBTQ+ Tourism made its debut at ITB Berlin in the late 90s, but it was officially recognized as a distinct segment under ITB’s CSR initiative in 2010. Since then, it has grown to become the largest LGBTQ+ Tourism presence at any global tourism trade show, now standing as one of the most diverse and vibrant areas of the event.
Each year, ITB Berlin, in partnership with Diversity Tourism GmbH, hosts the renowned LGBTQ+ Tourism Pavilion. This space features a variety of exhibitors, educational programs, and networking opportunities for trade visitors and media alike.
As part of the ITB Convention, a dedicated panel discussion on LGBTQ+ tourism is held annually. Additionally, the ITB LGBTQ+ Pioneer and Destination Awards, established in 2018, are presented during the ITB Diversity Gala on ITB Thursday, in support of the IGLTA Foundation.

ITB Diversity Gala 2025
The ITB Diversity Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating Diversity & Inclusion, will take place during ITB Berlin 2025. This event will feature the award ceremonies for the ITB LGBTQ+ Tourism Award and the LGBTQ+ Pioneer Award.
For the third consecutive year, ITB trade visitors, media, exhibitors, tourism professionals, and friends from around the world will gather at the Ritz Carlton Berlin for this spectacular evening. The event includes a gala dinner, a pre-event welcome reception, and an After-Gala Party with live DJ music starting at 11 p.m.
A silent auction fundraiser will benefit the IGLTA Foundation, having raised over USD 12,000 in past years. Limited seats and tables are available.
