Vietjet has entered a strategic partnership with OpenAirlines, a global leader in AI-driven aviation fuel efficiency, to optimize flight operations and advance sustainability.
This collaboration makes Vietjet Vietnam’s first airline to implement SkyBreathe®, an advanced AI-powered eco-flying platform designed to analyze flight data and optimize fuel consumption.
SkyBreathe® integrates real-time aircraft data with AI, identifying fuel-saving opportunities and reducing CO2 emissions.
With over 21 million flights analyzed, the platform provides actionable insights to pilots and flight operations teams.
OpenAirlines estimates that SkyBreathe® will help Vietjet cut fuel usage by 2%, translating to an annual reduction of over 96,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Additionally, Vietjet will implement SkyBreathe® MyFuelCoach, an AI-powered tool that provides personalized eco-briefings for pilots.
The application enables pilots to monitor fuel efficiency, track performance, and adopt best practices, reinforcing Vietjet’s commitment to sustainable flight operations.
Alexandre Feray, CEO of OpenAirlines, stated: “By adopting SkyBreathe®, Vietjet is translating its ambition of net-zero emissions by 2050 into measurable action.
This initiative enhances operational efficiency while benefiting the aviation industry and the environment.”
Vietjet Vice President Nguyen Duc Thinh added: “This partnership aligns with our long-term sustainability strategy, allowing us to optimize fuel use while delivering cost-effective and environmentally friendly travel experiences.”
As part of the 73-member SkyBreathe® Community, Vietjet will gain access to a global network of airlines committed to sustainable aviation.
The airline will receive continuous fuel efficiency support from OpenAirlines, ensuring long-term improvements in eco-friendly operations.
Vietjet, one of the fastest-growing carriers in Asia-Pacific, continues expanding its modern fleet and global network.
The airline currently offers direct flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi to major Vietnamese hubs such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.
New routes from Bangalore and Hyderabad to Ho Chi Minh City further strengthen connectivity between India and Vietnam, with seamless transit options to Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Australia.
