EU Raises Schengen Visa Costs by 12.5%

The European Union's new Schengen visa (type C) fees will increase costs for short-term travelers.

Adult applicants for short-term visas will pay €90, up from €80, a 12.5% increase.

Applications for children aged 6 to under 12 will cost €45, instead of €40.

Citizens of non-cooperation countries and those entering the country irregularly will be charged a €135 or €180 visa fee.

The increase is intended to counteract rising member state staff pay and inflation.

The most recent revision was done in February 2020.

India's new visa policy grants multi-year visas with a maximum five-year validity to frequent Indian travelers.

Schengen visas are valid in 29 European nations.

Adults and children can apply for long-term, multiple-entry Schengen visas valid for two years.

The Schengen Visa region includes most EU members and non-EU nations.
